Towing and Recovery Equipment

salutes its distributor WATERS Truck and Tractor on their 80th milestone anniversary. The family owned business, led by fourth generation family members, has expanded to include Jerr-Dan towing and recovery equipment.

WATERS Truck and Tractor was founded in 1938 by Ray M. Waters, Sr in Columbus, Mississippi. Since then, the company has made it its mission to provide the highest level of customer service while offering a wide variety of transportation products, solutions, and services. Some of these include parts and service support, a collision repair center for trucks, buses, and trailers; a truck and tire center, road side and heavy-duty wrecker service; industrial maintenance service, pupil transportation services and heavy equipment service.

WATERS third generation Mike Waters joined the company full-time in 1975. Thecompany expanded to Meridian, MS, in 1976 as WATERS International Trucks. M.L. and David Waters joined the company a few years later. The second branch of WATERS Truck and Tractor was opened in Kosciusko in 1982. WATERS acquired and operated the Blue Bird Bus franchise from 1990-2000. The Blue Bird Bus franchise was dropped and replaced with the IC Bus franchise in 2000. WATERS International Trucks opened a branch in Natchez in 2002 and Hattiesburg in 2007. A second location in Columbus called WATERS Truck and Tire Service opened in 2009.
